Banking in Floreth
Nearly every Shyn of any size will have a Croupier's (Banker's) place of business. They keep daylight business hours and are inaccessible during times of celebration or holidays, siege or "unfortunate catastrophic obliteration" (although the bankers have a stellar reputation for remaining available to their customers, even through extraordinary circumstances).
Player characters can deposit an amount into any Croupier location; the DM will account for those deposits in a spreadsheet.
Player characters can withdraw funds from any Croupier's place of business - there is a "solution" to the accounting process that allows all Croupier's to know current balances anywhere.
When a PC opens an account, it's with their name, and they're given a special passphrase. Should they speak the passphrase privately to the Croupier (in a tiny space similar to a Catholic confessional), the exchange may occur.
In exchange for their service, the Croupier keeps 1% of the transaction, or 1 Crown, whatever is smaller; ie, deposit 100 Crowns and they keep 1 Crown; withdraw 50 Crowns and they keep 1 Crown. The Croupier only deals in Crowns.
The Croupier can exchange value for writs and assume debts themselves (they will give the PC the cash value of the writ and go after the issuer). Deposits are 100-percent insured up to $1m Crowns.
They also have private vaults for discerning customers in select Shyn’s - ask your local Croupier for more information!
